在留資格「特定技能」に外国人ドライバーの追加を検討

現在のドライバー不足に対応するため、国土交通省はトラック、タクシー、バスの運転手といった自動車運送業を特定技能の在留資格に追加することを検討し、出入国在留管理庁など関係省庁との協議の上、2023年度中の実現を目指すとのことです。

In order to deal with the current driver shortage, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is considering adding motor vehicle transportation jobs such as truck, taxi, and bus drivers to the status of residence for specified skills, and is holding discussions with related ministries and agencies such as the Immigration Services Agency , aiming to realize this by the end of 2023.

「特定技能」は人手不足が深刻な業種で外国人の人材を受け入れるため2019年に設けられた在留資格であり、現在、在留期間が最長5年である「特定技能1号」の対象分野は、農業や飲食料品製造業、外食業などの12分野に限られています。

"Specified Skilled Worker" is a status of residence established in 2019 to accept foreign human resources in industries with serious labor shortages.Currently, the target fields of "Specified Skilled Worker No. 1", whose period of stay is up to 5 years, are: , limited to 12 sectors such as agriculture, food and beverage manufacturing, and restaurant industry.

国土交通省は今後、状況に応じて運転免許制度を所管する警察庁との協議も検討したいとしています。

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will also consider holding discussions with the National Police Agency, which has jurisdiction over the driver's license system．
